Hey, Brad. Great point. Satan's shortcuts make us believe we can get things on our own, but then leave us hanging, which produces the doubt. If we get rid of that and just walk on Jesus' path by His strength, then we overcome. Thanks for that reminder.

Satan's shortcuts have lead me to doubting. Doubting whether or not I can actually walk that long narrow road. Doubting whether or not I am strong enough to stick it out and not take the short cut next time. I need to quit doubting whether or not I can do it and come to the firm conclusion that I can't, but Christ can. Christ can get me there, I just have to follow. Thanks for the wonderful thoughts.

Okay, okay, I'll be the first. Satan's shortcuts have never led me anywhere good. Rather, they have led me to isolation and disconnection from family and friends. They have led me into paths of shame and guilt. They have erected walls between me and my wife. They caused hard feelings between me and other Christians. They have given me a few moments of fun and satisfaction, only to be replaced with sadness, anger, hurt, bitterness, resentment and all of that directed inward at me. Sadly, with all that negative emotion on the inside, it led me into a path of even deeper sin trying to medicate all those negative feelings.

For me, Satan's shortcuts have always been nothing more than a trap to stay off Jesus' narrow road to life.
